Turkey Rising: Ah! Kosmos and IPEK GORGUN
The 2014 Red Bull Music Academy participants from Turkey reflect on their experience.
At last year’s Academy, we invited two participants from Turkey, Ah! Kosmos and IPEK GORGUN. The two aren’t formally connected in their music-making, but their outlook toward sound is incredibly similar. Ah! Kosmos’ defies anyone that might assign a genre to her music, while IPEK GORGUN’s sound experiments are almost impossible to describe. Together, they represent some of the most exciting talents to emerge from the country.
