We hosted a street party in Vesterbro and a stage at Distortion Ø
Red Bull Music Academy has become a regular fixture of Copenhagen’s Distortion Festival. In 2017 we once again hosted the Street Party Vesterbro at Litauens Plads on Thursday, June 1st, before taking over Distortion Ø with a stage at Refshaleøen for the grand finale. Street Party Vesterbro @ Litauens Plads
Thousands gathered at Vesterbro’s Litauens Plads for a free outdoor celebration that was headlined by California beat connoisseur Madlib. Additional performances came from rising Swedish rap and R&B crew RMH featuring Cherrie, Silvana Imam and Erik Lundin, as well as local heroes Bikstok, Simon Dokkedal, Marcus Gordon, Keis Khatib and Bwoy de Bhajan.
Distortion Ø @ Refshaleøen
For two consecutive evenings, we hosted a stage at Distortion Ø to close out the 2017 edition of the Danish festival. Abra, Lady Leshurr and Iris Gold brought their stunning live performances to the Refshaleøen venue on the first night, with support from Kenton Slash Demon and Kasper Bjørke.
The next night saw London’s breakout MC Little Simz commanding the crowd alongside Awful Records affiliate Tommy Genesis, as well as Soleima, mobilegirl, Code Walk, Erosion Flow and RBMA alumni Johan Carøe.
