Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp: Madrid, March 2 - 4

The iconic host of the 2011 Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid, Matadero's Nave de Música, plays home once again to a three-day Bass Camp session featuring Kode9, A Guy Called Gerald, and Patrick Pulsinger.

Just over four months ago, the Red Bull Music Academy landed in the Spanish capital of Madrid, whereby 60 participants from 34 countries collaborated, schemed, recorded and generally nerded-out on the possibilities contained within the brick walls of the Matadero’s Nave de Música. And now, it’s deja vu - all over again.

On March 2, 3 and 4, the Matadero will play host to the Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp, a three-day event where 20 selected participants will get the opportunity to experience the unique flavour of a full-fledged Academy. Whether it’s working with a diverse array of fellow musicians from across Spain, participating in studio workshops stacked with vintage synths, attending unique late-night performances around town, or receiving inspirations and insights from legendary musicians - the Bass Camp is the perfect setting to dive into the Academy wonderland.

Giving lectures this year, and assisting in the studios will be Hyperdub-honcho Kode9, A Guy Called Gerald (aka Gerald Simpson), and Austria's synthesizer wizard Patrick Pulsinger.

In addition, the Bass Camp will hold an open-day session for the public on Saturday March 3, and concerts will take place in some of the city's premiere clubs come nightfall:

Friday March 2nd: Kode9 in Holydubs, Siroco (C/ San Dimas, 3)

Saturday  March 3rd: A Guy Called Gerald + Patrick Pulsinger, Mondo (C/ Arlabán, 7)
