Outtakes: What Difference Does It Make? A Film About Making Music
Check out unused footage from interviews with Seth Troxler, Brian Eno, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Egyptian Lover and Van Dyke Parks.
Last week saw the premiere of What Difference Does It Make? A Film About Making Music, our new full-length documentary about the ups and downs of a life devoted to music.
Shot at the 2013 Red Bull Music Academy in New York and produced by Ralf Schmerberg and the Berlin-based artist collective Mindpirates, the film focuses in on the creative process – but ends up asking questions about life itself. As with any project of this sort, there was plenty of material that couldn’t be used in the final version of the film. But given the unique opportunity to sit down with people like Seth Troxler, Brian Eno, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Egyptian Lover and Van Dyke Parks, we couldn’t help but want to share some more of their thoughts on what compels them to make music.
