When it comes to live electronic performance, Canadian producer Mathew Jonson has gained a well-deserved reputation for making hours of jamming look and sound effortless. At the 2014 Red Bull Music Academy in Tokyo, Jonson worked closely with the participants in the custom-built studios on their sessions, sharing his expertise on all things technical, but it was his own live show on the opening night of the Academy that had everyone under his spell. In this edition of Studio Science, filmed in the main studio of the Red Bull Music Academy HQ in Shibuya, Jonson details his live set up and performance structure for the participants.
