We Hosted an Extravagant Night of Voguing in Berlin with CTM Festival
MikeQ brought the ballroom to SchwuZ, following a performance by The Bug and Earth’s Dylan Carlson and two studio talks

For the third year in a row, Red Bull Music Academy joined forces with Berlin’s CTM Festival to host the grand finale of the program. This time around, we got things started early, presenting two lecture sessions at Red Bull Studios on Saturday, February 4th, with Dylan Carlson of Seattle drone metal giants Earth and ballroom hero MikeQ.
RBMA x CTM Finale @ Heimathafen Neukölln with Dylan Carlson and The Bug
On Sunday, February 5th, Dylan Carlson took the stage at Heimathafen Neukölln, presenting his new collaborative project with London’s bass and dub aficionado The Bug. Their earth-shaking performance provided an immersive start to the CTM closing night, as the duo premiered songs off their upcoming record. Support on the night came from Polish one-man band Stara Rzeka.

The night continued just a five-minute walk away at the gay clubbing institution SchwuZ, where RBMA alumni Marie Davidson, Toxe and Alis shared the bill with the likes of Norway’s Nils Bech, Brazil’s Negroma and Berlin’s own Ziúr. The festival finale culminated in an extravagant voguing showcase led by the local Berlin Voguing Out crew and soundtracked by New Jersey’s finest, MikeQ.
