Memorable Moments from the Red Bull Music Academy Stage at Mauerpark 2017

For the fourth consecutive year, Red Bull Music Academy presented an open-air stage at Berlin’s Mauerpark, in conjunction with Fête de la Musique. This year, we also hosted a hi-octane after-party, as well as an in-depth lecture with Turbo Crunk trailblazer and TNGHT member Lunice.

The massive stage at Mauerpark featured a special showcase by LA’s Brainfeeder posse, including label founder and acclaimed producer Flying Lotus, Grammy-winning bass wizard Thundercat, Austria's classically trained Ninja Tune beatsmith Dorian Concept and Dutch jazz alchemist (and RBMA alumnus) Jameszoo. Other notable Academy alumni performing include Dresden’s Uncanny Valley cohort Cuthead and Berlin-based low-end explorer Alis.

The afternoon at Mauerpark was followed by a cracking after-party at Kreuzberg’s Prince Charles, featuring a bass-heavy cast of RBMA alumni such as visionary Montréal producer Lunice, Baton Rouge beatmaker Suicideyear, Brooklyn-based Irishman Mike Slott, turntablist champ DJ Rafik and more.
