The Academy’s second day was full of music and life lessons. The participants shared their own productions, which included everything from futuristic footwork and boom-bap R&B to electronic pop and vocoder funk – you could sense the collaborations taking shape. Laurent Garnier delivered an inspiring lecture, taking participants through his multifaceted career and emphasizing the necessity of an omnivorous excitement for all genres of music: “You don’t eat chicken every day. You don’t just listen to house and techno.”

In their first transmission from la Gaîté lyrique, RBMA Radio celebrated the final broadcast of the 10 Years of RBMA Radio series with artists including Black Devil Disco Club plus Academy alumni Onra and Pilooski. Finally, the Joubert Singers brought some more of their vocal magic for a raucous gospel boot camp that had participants dancing and singing along into the late hours of the night.
