Benjamin Damage’s Top YouTube Boxer Videos
Just about everyone on the internet agrees that pet videos are the best thing ever. 50 Weapons DJ/producer Benjamin Damage is no different. We asked him to furnish us with a list of anything he liked in advance of the release of his album, Heliosphere, and the Welshman has burrowed deep into the bowels of YouTube to put together a definitive list of videos featuring his favorite breed: boxers.
Trampoline Dog
Not everyone likes boxers. Some think they are too big and slobbery. I’m a big fan. This video shows how much fun they can have all by themselves. I’m sure he was there for hours. I’ll definitely be getting one as soon as I can... and a trampoline for it.
Linus the Boxer
Slightly more controversial, in this video the boxer is playing with a baby. It’s had 25 million views, and there is a huge argument in the comments over whether it is irresponsible to let a dog gently nibble on a baby’s foot while its ears are being pulled. I showed it to my parents and they had a blazing row about it too.
Boxers vs Cows
This is a particularly brave and curious dog. It is a pretty amazing video. I love how the cows are so interested in him, and he’s able to command their respect despite being less than half their size (and completely outnumbered). He even scares them all down the field at one point.
Boxer Dog and Cat Fighting on a Deckchair
This is a good play fight between a cat and a dog. (There are no claws out and the boxer doesn’t bite too hard.) The cat looks better at boxing than the boxer. You get the sense the cat is only friends with the dog, as he’s wore him down with relentless enthusiasm. The best bit is at 1:45 when they both stop fighting for a moment like in a cartoon, and then get right back into it.
Boxer Watching YouTube
This one is doing the classic boxer head tilt. Boxers are very human-like in their personalities. He’s just enjoying watching dog videos on YouTube like everyone else. He looks like the boxer that used to visit my home in Wales a few years back. I’m not sure exactly where he came from, but he would turn up at the back door, jump on the handle to open it, burst into the house and demand that you go outside to play with him. If you weren’t in, he would just stand on his hind legs scratching the door frantically for hours. Boxers don’t give up.
Boxer Treadmill
I think this video proves beyond all doubt that boxers are the best dogs. They’re incredibly brave and loyal with boundless energy and enthusiasm yet capable of great acts of stupidity. If only they allowed them to sit next to you on planes. If you get why boxers are good dogs, I think it says something very good about your soul.
