This past week, the RBMA UK Tour rolled through Bristol, with club nights, shows, lectures, workshops, live radio broadcasts and special events from some of music’s most eminent emissaries. Peppered with collaborations between local heroes, institutions and labels, alongside a roster of world-class heavyweights, the programme featured a lecture and allnighter with Seth Troxler; a masked ball with experimental alt-fusion troupe Goat; a one-of-a-kind house party featuring Danny Brown, Academy alum Mumdance, Novelist and his crew The Square; Lonnie Liston Smith and Gilles Peterson settling some cosmic jazz at the Bristol Planetarium; and local ambassador of bass, Pinch, offered an intimate workshop.
